  • Pretty fun to drive.

    I purchased this vehicle after my 2016 Jeep Cherokee (75th Anniversary Edition) was totaled. This will more or less be a comparison to my thoughts on the Jeep. To start, Im a pretty husky 66 man. I used to have the Jeep drivers seat moved all the way back in order to sit in this vehicle and have enough leg room. Doing that didnt leave really any room in the back seat. With the Terrain, I dont have to have the seat all the way back, and for short distances I wouldnt have a problem sitting in the back behind myself. That in my opinion speaks volumes about the space offered on this vehicle. We also have a little 4 month old, which means the carseat is constantly in the back seat. I have plenty of room to get him in and out without the carseat touching either of the front two seats. Not to mention that with the carseat in the middle of the back row, we can get two average sized adults in the back on either side fairly comfortably, whereas in the Jeep is was a really tight fit. The trunk is also pretty spacious, and we havent had any issue loading up a bunch of groceries along with our stroller along with a random assortment of toys and whatnot. With the under floor storage in the trunk, you also get that extra little bit of storage that is always welcomed. The issue with the trunk is the opening height of the door. As a pretty tall guy, I find that I have to bend over quite far in order to get into the trunk without banking my head on the door. Being able to open the door more would be a great improvement. The 4 cylinder engine in this vehicle can leave a little to be desired. The Jeep had a robust 6 cylinder that could really take off if put in sport mode. The Terrain obviously doesnt have that kind of power, but its generally enough to get the job done. I feel its more of an adjustment than anything having had a 6 cyl. and having to go back to a 4. I love the push button start and the integration of apple carplay. Those may honestly be a couple of my favorite features of this Terrain. I travel a lot in the city for work, so being able to pull up maps on the display helps greatly with navigation. The Terrain so far seems to have adequate fuel efficiency, though we will always want the greatest fuel efficiency there could be. Still an improvement over the fuel efficiency of the Jeep, but I contribute that to the difference in engines. It has a rather quiet cab while on the road, which is nice as we wont have the sound of road construction waking up the baby that is usually asleep in the back seat. All in all, I am very happy with this purchase, especially with a price tag roughly 13,000 less than the Jeep. It is a fun and comfortable ride that I plan on driving until it dies.

    LIKE THE COMBINED MPG WHICH HAS BEEN 29.5 CITY AND HIGHWAY, VERSUS SUV I OWNED WAS 24.5 MPG COMBINED CITY, HIGHWAY. TERRAIN IS 5 MPG BETTER.ON MONTHLY DRIVING 1,700 MILES A MONTH THE TERRAIN FUEL FOR MONTH IS 57.6 GAL. WHILE OTHER SUV 69.6 GAL. ALMOST 12 GALLONS SAVED A MONTH THATS EQUAL TO 1 LESS TANK OF GAS USED A MONTH. FAIR AMOUNT SAVINGS PER MONTH.

    As an owner of an Acura MDX, I was pleasantly surprised by this great GMC product. It is quiet and drives and rides like a premium SUV. The seats are the most comfortable I have ever had after more than three decades of driving. With nearly 2,000 miles driven thus far, I am averaging nearly 35 MPG combined city/highway. I love it and highly recommend it.
